Additional info:   This 'banner' era Gibson would have been built at some point within a 4 year window between 1942-46. Gibson didn't produce any guitars with this "Only a Gibson is good enough" headstock logo after 1946 until the company produced re-issues in the 1990's. Since Gibson didn't keep records during the war we haven't been able to narrow the production year date down to a specific date despite our efforts in trying to find this information out.

The Gibson L-50 was first launched in 1932 and ceased production in 1971. The model saw many variations and differences over 4 decades of production with different tailpieces, finishes, headstocks etc. This "F" hole version we have is in particularly good condition for the age - other than the replaced Schaller double ring machine heads, it is in all original condition! At some point in time the guitar has had a pickup fitted and there is a small hole on the side where the jack input would have been which has been repaired a long time ago. Spec wize, the guitar features a solid spruce top, (carved, not pressed), maple back and sides and Brazillian rosewood fingerboard and bridge - all of which have aged beautifully over the decades and give the guitar a warmth and clarity that you just can't find in new guitars. Overall, a truly gorgeous archtop which is in amazing condition for its age. Also comes along with non-original hardcase!

Non-Original Hardcase Included!
