About Us

In 2003 Louise and Paula established Strung Out Guitars in Glasgow, an independently run guitar shop and guitar repair workshop specialising in second hand and vintage guitars and amps and, of course guitar repairs!

Situated in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City, the shop itself is nestled into a 100 year old railway arch in Kings Court.

The guitar repair workshop is still the very heart of our business. We have had the pleasure to work for literally thousands of musicians over the years and every day brings something new. We love guitars and believe every guitar should be set up to play like a dream, regardless of make, model or price. If you love guitars, then you have come to the right place as so do we!

Paula and Louise met while studying HNC Stringed Instrument Repair in Anniesland College, Glasgow under the expert eyes of William C. Kelday and Paul Hyland, two of Scotland’s finest Luthiers.

After moving to London and completing HND’s in Musical Instrument Technology at London Guildhall University under the tuition of English classical guitar maker David Whiteman, both ladies began working as self employed guitar technicians and repairers at Andy’s Guitar Centre in London’s prestigious Denmark Street alongside ex-Led Zeppelin guitar tech and guitar guru, Tim Marten.
